UEFA has issued a statement declaring that it has lost confidence in FIFA leadership under Gianni Infantino following a proposal to sell stakes in competition rights to private investors. The European governing body condemned the "secret schemes" and announced plans to launch a review alongside other confederations to reform global football governance.

Roberto Carlos explains why he'd tell young footballers to copy Cristiano Ronaldo over Messi. John Obi Mikel: "Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?" Roberto Carlos: "For someone who trained as hard as I did... Cristiano. Cristiano has been more physical and more professional. Messi is spectacular. Messi is like Zidaneβa showman, a number one. They each have their own style of playing football. But if you're talking about young players, I would say Cristiano. Because of his hard work and his dedication. If you want a long career as a professional footballer, you have to do what Cristiano does." John Obi Mikel: "So you'd tell young players to follow Cristiano's example?" Roberto Carlos: "Exactly. They're both fantastic, and it's very difficult to choose between them because they're both at an incredibly high level. But if I had to lean one way, I would lean slightly towards Cristiano."

π¨ Gallagherβs Heavy Challenge Sparks Debate: Tottenham Too Aggressive in Pre-Season Clash: π£Frank Lampard βHonestly, Iβm a bit surprised by the intensity Tottenham are showing in whatβs meant to be a friendly. Chelsea have been playing some really composed, fluid football calm on the ball, moving it nicely, and looking sharp without forcing anything. Meanwhile Spurs seem determined to turn it into a battle. Theyβre flying into challenges left, right and centre, and that tackle from Conor Gallagher in particular stood out as needlessly aggressive. Look, I get it pride is always on the line when these two London clubs meet. But this isnβt a Premier League fixture or a proper London derby. Itβs a pre-season friendly. The whole point is to build fitness, try out combinations, and ease into the campaign without risking unnecessary injuries or heated moments. Spurs need to take a breath and relax a little. Thereβs no need to treat every duel like itβs the final whistle of a title decider. That said, even with the extra physicality from Tottenham, Chelsea still look the better side by some distance. The quality, the control, the way theyβre dictating the tempo it just underlines what most of us already know. Chelsea remain the superior team. No doubt about it.β

π¨Luka ModriΔ on the English club with the biggest pull. ποΈ Reporter: Luka, which English club do you believe still has the biggest pull for players? π£οΈ Luka ModriΔ: βIβve been playing football for years, and during almost every summer transfer window I hear people say Manchester United canβt sign this big-name player or that big-name player. Yet every year, I still see Manchester United attracting top players.β βIβve honestly never seen many English clubs consistently beat Manchester United to a player when United are genuinely the playerβs preferred destination. When Manchester United are serious about a signing and the player wants the move, more often than not, they find a way to make it happen.β βAsk young footballers around the world where they dream of playing, and youβll hear the same names over and over againβManchester United and Real Madrid. That alone tells you everything about the pull those two clubs still have.β βFootball is always changing, but some clubs are simply too big for their history to disappear. You can go through difficult years, but the badge, the tradition and everything the club represents never lose their value.β βWhen Manchester United call, players listen. It doesnβt matter where they are in the league or what project another club is offering. Old Trafford, the history, the legends who wore that shirt and the supporters around the world make it a destination every footballer respects.β βIβve spoken to many players throughout my career, and Iβve seen how differently they react when Manchester United are involved. Itβs not always about money or who won the league last season. Sometimes itβs about fulfilling a childhood dream and representing one of the biggest clubs in football history.β βThatβs why I still believe Manchester United have one of the biggest pulls in world football. There are many fantastic clubs in England, but very few can match Manchester Unitedβs history, global fanbase and the prestige that comes with wearing that shirt.β
