All social networks care for is engagement. It doesn’t matter how many followers you have; they care about what percent of people who see your content engage with it. Engagement is typically measured by likes, shares, saves, comments, and clicks. Here’s how to create engagement: 1. Start creating series. A great example of this is workout videos. If you create a 5 part series on building a six-pack, you now have people watching 3, 4, or 5 of your videos instead of 1. This sends signals to social networks that your content is engaging. 2. Post lo-fi content. When we examined 3000 business profiles on the social web, lo-fi content generated 34.04% more likes and 18.52% more comments. Lo-fi content is just content shot with your phone. People don’t want fancy editing… they want real, authentic videos. 3. Post content with a contrarian viewpoint. When we analyzed 100,000 social media posts, we found that content with a contrarian viewpoint got 31.94% more engagement. Just think about what most people believe to be true, but you know it isn’t.
