The money I've spent on my home gym will probably be one of my best investments. It's another way my kids will see their parents being active. And one day, they'll use it too.

One time when I was new to the gym, I saw a guy in the changing rooms with a ridiculously defined back. He was so lean. You could see all the muscles in his back. I made it my ambition to get a back like that... t.co/kS3s9hq6vi

When I was a gym newbie I was desperate to putup lots of weight. I sacrificed form for bigger numbers & lifting low reps all the time. My numbers went up but my half reps got worse. Eventually I had to take a blow to my ego and lower the weights...

For the first 2 years on my fitness journey I always ate porridge for breakfast. Then I realised having low protein meals isn't optimal. So I swapped it for: - Skyr - Meat - Eggs - Whey Protein - Greek yoghurt - Protein pancakes How do you start your day with protein? t.co/0XLkpMLIBF

I've gotten TOO lean 2 or 3 times in my life. Not quite bodybuilding show level conditioning... But too lean for optimal health. - Cold all the time - Grumpy all the time - Think about food all the time - Bad sleep for no apparent reason That's when you know you're there. t.co/BJAS51GcjH

I carry nagging shoulder and elbow issues from days when I lifted too heavy, too frequently and with bad form. I was too young and too stubborn. I didn't even stop when there was pain. Don't be like me when I was 25. Form is more important than weight.

The worst trainer I ever saw... Was probably the guy with a 40-something client who wasn't an experienced lifter. He had him maxing out on big barbell lifts every day... Allowing him to grind out horrible looking 1 rep attempts. Was 100% doing him more harm than good.

Went to a physio a while back about pain in my hips. It was hurting just getting in and out of my car. Turned out the pain was caused by my tight lower back. He sorted me out.

You'll never hear someone say "you're looking too fat" But you will hear them say "you're looking too thin" Funny thing is, you'll actually be at a healthy weight when you hear the second one.
