Consistency is key to growing on Twitter, even if it's the most cliché thing in the world.
There's no use in posting 10 times in one day if you then spend 3 weeks without posting anything.
Twitter is a game of showing up every day.
But as important as showing up is, it’s even more important how you show up (and how often).
Posting too much can lead to an overwhelmed audience. On the other hand, posting too little can result in a lack of visibility.
The key when it comes to how often you should tweet is Balance.
A balance that works both for you and your audience.
In this post, we’ll explore how to find that balance and respond to the age-old question of “How often should I tweet?”.
The cool answer some gurus will give you about “how often you should tweet” is 50 times a day.
The real answer?
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to it.
The best way to figure out the best posting frequency for your account is to test and experiment with different frequencies. Then track the engagement and reach of the tweets and optimize from there.
But that may be too much if you are starting out. What I like to do is determine certain posting frequencies depending on what stage of growth you are in.
These can be divided into:
There’s a different approach for each stage of growth 👇
Suggested posting frequency: Between 2 and 5 tweets per day.
I prefer to lean on the lower end of this spectrum.
This is a great time to experiment with finding your voice. Don’t be afraid to test new approaches and content formats.
About threads, there’s no real reason to create them now, since it’s likely to get ignored. You could do them for practice, though!
Suggested posting frequency: 2 tweets a day, one in the AM and one in the PM.
By now, you should have more clear ideas about how your content looks like.
For threads, I recommend doing 2x week. If that’s too much for you, 1 is enough.
At this stage, you should have mastered content creation. No real suggestion here besides to keep doing what you are doing.
If you made it to 10k followers, you already know how to get to 20,30,40…
💡 There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. It all really depends on the niche, type of audience, type of content…
💡 Take these suggestions as the base and start tweaking from there. Use these experiments to also test different types of content like visuals, videos, shorter tweets…
💡 Once you figure out what content works best for you and how often to post it, double down on that.
Scheduling your tweets is the secret weapon to consistency on Twitter. It’s useful to:
My advice is to stay away from creating daily. It’s super easy that one day your “tweet writing” gets interrupted by life.
What we’ve seen top creators do is create in batches, then use Tweet Hunter to schedule all of them.
Example: you take 1h every Monday morning to write all your tweets for the week. Then you get them all scheduled with Tweet Hunter.
That takes the pressure off creating daily and lets you focus on what you do best, while your Twitter account runs in semi-auto pilot.
We’ve talked about the importance. of showing up on Twitter, but, as we said in the introduction to this post, as important as how often is HOW you show up.
If you need to sacrifice quantity vs quality, do it.
It doesn't matter how many tweets you post; the important thing is that they are interesting enough to make people want to engage.

Andrea has managed to grow his Twitter following to 43.9k, and his email list to 10k by tweeting once a day.
At the end of the day, the key is to find the right balance between quality and quantity.
It's okay to post once daily if the content is as good as Andrea’s.
As with any good rule, the posting frequency rule has its exceptions, like Andrea.
So if you decide that’s how you want to do it, feel free to ignore this post!
But if you decide to follow our advice, coming up with tweet ideas can be hard sometimes, so here are 20 tweet ideas so you can get inspired right away.
As you’ve seen, how often you should tweet depends on a bunch of factors like audience size, niche, type of content…
The best approach is to experiment and find a balance between quantity and quality that works for you and your audience.
Final reminder: At the end of the day, no matter how often you tweet, what matters the most is that your content is interesting enough for people.
Nail that down and the rest will follow.
