Writing great tweets can be quite difficult and time consuming. Most Twitter accounts with 20K+ followers spend hours every week writing their tweets. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to save some time and increase your productivity. One of these things is to use tweet templates that usually drive engagement and may also increase your followers.
We gathered a few of these templates right here so that you can start growing your Twitter audience more efficiently right now.

Tweet Template #1 – It’s not [X] it’s [Y]

notion image
This format works well because it’s usually pretty funny, and because it forces you mind to pay attention to the wordplay. There’s just something nice about “getting the joke” that makes you think you’re super smart and want to share that with others.

Tweet Template #2 – I used to think

notion image
People like authentic stories. And they also like it when you show some humility. Success is great, but admitting you were wrong can also go a long way. This format makes it easy because our opinions evolve all the time. So showing how what you used to think was actually wrong or different than what you believe today is a very efficient and easy to implement format.

Tweet Template #3 – Would have you believe

notion image
This one works because it plays on our tendency to love having a “common enemy” as well as feeling smarter than everybody else. And there’s nothing better to achieve that than to say “X would have you believe that Y, but actually, they’re wrong”.

Tweet Template #4 – I hate it when

notion image
Every comedian ever has always understood the power of witty observations of life’s absurdity. And the “I hate it when” format is perfect to express a thought like that. Plus it’s just so easy to write a bunch of “I hate it when tweets” because, well, there’s usually a bunch of things that you hate.

Tweet Template #5 – People think that… but…

notion image
Similar to the “would have you believe” format, this one can also work wonders. It’s perfect to express a contrarian or provocative thought, pointing the finger at those who don’t think like you, and celebrating those that do. Doesn’t matter if you agree or not, you want to either RT this or argue about how it’s wrong.

Tweet Template #6 – It’s OK to…

notion image
People love to indulge themselves. But they always feel ashamed of it. So when you tell someone it’s OK to relax or spend their money or do anything that relieves pressure, you’re giving that person a great feeling about themselves.

Tweet Template #7 – The more you…

notion image
Encouraging good behavior to reach an end result usually works pretty well. Again, most people will agree and want to support, or they won’t and they’ll want to argue. Think of all the things you do in life and that, if you did more of, would lead to superior results. And turn these into tweets.

Tweet Template #8 – Stop … Start …

notion image
Still surfing on the “good behavior” wave, the stop/start format is a great way to express how you can replace a bad habit with a good, totally opposite one. Stop eating junk food and start looking for the little veggie sign. Stop giving all your money to the banks and start investing in crypto. Stop sleeping till 11am and build a morning routine. Stop spending your marketing budget mindlessly and start looking at the data. There’s endless inspiration here.

Bonus Tweet Template – X disguised as Y

notion image
My favorite one. Not the easiest to use because it requires a bit more thinking than the previous ones. But the “X is Y disguised as Z” is just so great. It forces the reader to think and makes that person feel so smart once they get it. It often aligns with the good behavior theme or with the common enemy one.
There you have it, 8 tweet templates you can use to grow your engagement and Twitter followers. By doing so, you’ll probably also speed up your tweet writing in no time!
