Two weeks ago, I analyzed Apple's ChatGPT deal and concluded that this exact thing (plugging into other models, not just ChatGPT) could well happen. Apple is commoditizing AI assistants plugging into Siri. Either to generate revenue from them, or to later fully replace them. t.co/cdd6aBqwY4 t.co/WoV5jLjeih

We know that when LLM tools are trained on LLM-generated output: they regress. It’s partially why companies like Google and OpenAI are licensing Reddit data to train their models. As Reddit is assumed to be human content. Well, it was. More and more of it will be subtle AI spam. t.co/HjHSettWQj

"If you want to really understand an engineer – especially a technologist that’s got that bias to being an introvert – an oral interview is the wrong way to do it. You want to evaluate engineers the way we do work: on our own, with the artifacts of their work." - via @bcantrill

I'm more and more convinced that the approach of: "How can we add AI to our product?" Is the wrong approach. It's the approach of a hammer looking for nails. A better one: "what do build? What material do I want to put where? For the places I need wood: do I need nails or no?"

"Poland is the native mobile app development hub of the EU" - opinion from a CTO at a UK scaleup (hiring across the EU) Interesting observation. Hiring managers across the EU: any thoughts on this observation?

The Olympic spirit is about competition on a fair ground. In Paris, there will be athletes that have a cool room thanks to AC their country provides: everyone else might struggle to get a good night’s rest before competition if it gets hot (rooms could warm to 26C) Unfortunate. t.co/2F41ir3K5g

Now that NVIDIA took over Microsoft as the world's most valuable company (for now,) an interesting reflection how this exact thing happened (another HW company taking over Microsoft as the world's most valuable one) 24 years ago. The incredible part? Microsoft's domination! t.co/l7WOylxQsl

Because this goes viral too frequently, the facts (as a Hungarian): 1. Income from employment in Hungary is taxed at 33.5%: 15% income tax, AND 18.5% “social contribution tax” 2. Women w 4 kids are exempt for life of the 15% part only 3. Ppl over 65 exempt from the 18.5% part t.co/wNc0MVeAZp

X rolled out making all likes private practically overnight. No gradual rollout, testing etc. What now happens is impersonator “burner” accounts place spam as a reply to a post. Bots add thousands of likes. Spam reply first one shown. Eg the first reply to Paul Graham: t.co/jh9TDelnFD
