What Does Engagement Mean on Twitter?
Engagement refers to any interaction you have with your audience on Twitter. Engagement can be through likes, mentions, comments, retweets, and DMs. If you want to increase your reach and visibility on the platform, it is important to invest more time in conversations.
When a user finds your content valuable, they will interact with it in one of the ways listed above. You should do the same if you find someone else’s content interesting. A good Twitter engagement rate is crucial because it indicates how well you are connecting with your audience.
Why is Engagement Important on Twitter?
Engagement on Twitter is a crucial part of any effective marketing strategy, not just a vanity metric. It is a sign of an active Twitter community. When you encourage people to interact with your content, it makes it likely that they will follow.
Responding to mentions and comments on your content is equally important because it helps you build a lasting connection with your network. It encourages trust and loyalty and eventually increases your conversions.
Engagement also helps you analyze whether your content strategy is working. It helps you understand what type of content resonates the most with your target audience.
3 Ways to Engage with Your Twitter Audience
Tweet Hunter’s CRM features provide you with more than one way of interacting with your target audience without having to spend all day scrolling Twitter. Here are three ways to get started.
Before you start your Twitter engagement efforts, creating a contacts list on Tweet Hunter is important. This is where you can create separate lists of people you’d like to network with, for example, your existing network, your target prospects, and thought leaders and influencers in your industry.
Click “Contacts” under the CRM section on the menu of the Tweet Hunter dashboard.
Click “Create a New List.”
Create a name for your list, and then click “Create List.”
You can add a specific Twitter handle to your list, a Twitter List, people who have interacted with your tweets in the past, sent you DMs, or import a list of people from a specific tweet.
Once you have done that, click “Import” and then “Add People.”
Engage with Your Target Audience
Now that you have a contact list ready, you can start interacting with your target audience. This is where you’d be able to engage with the content of people you’d like to connect with and gain more visibility and followers in the process.
Click “Engage (people)” under the CRM section of your Tweet Hunter dashboard.
Select a contact list from the drop-down menu.
You’ll see a list of all the recent tweets from the people in your list here.
Click “+add to selection” if you’d like Tweet Hunter to recommend more people based on your existing list.
Find a tweet you want to comment on, write your comment, and click “Reply.”
If you’re stuck with a good response and need a little help, click the little lightning symbol next to “Reply” to generate an AI reply.
Edit the comment to make it your own, and then click “Reply.”
With just 10 minutes a day, you can engage with at least 7-8 influential users on your list.
Engage with Your Existing Network
You can also build a stronger community and promote loyalty by engaging with your existing network from within Tweet Hunter.
Click “Mentions & Replies.”
You’ll find a list of all your mentions and replies in one place here.
Write your response and click “Reply.”
Click “People I Follow.”
You’ll see the recent posts from everyone you follow on Twitter here.
Comment on posts you find interesting or valuable and click “Reply.”
You can also add emojis, images, and GIFs to your comments.
Engage Based on Keywords
Other than your existing network and your target audience, you should also spend a part of your day engaging with content based on the target keywords in your niche.
Click “Keywords” in the Engage Section of your Tweet Hunter dashboard.
Write a few keywords for which you’d like to discover content and click “Search.”
Click “Filters” to refine your search further.
Click “Remove Tweets I have already replied” and then click “Apply filters.”
