What Does Engagement Mean on Twitter?

Engagement refers to any interaction you have with your audience on Twitter. Engagement can be through likes, mentions, comments, retweets, and DMs. If you want to increase your reach and visibility on the platform, it is important to invest more time in conversations.
When a user finds your content valuable, they will interact with it in one of the ways listed above. You should do the same if you find someone else’s content interesting. A good Twitter engagement rate is crucial because it indicates how well you are connecting with your audience.

Why is Engagement Important on Twitter?

Engagement on Twitter is a crucial part of any effective marketing strategy, not just a vanity metric. It is a sign of an active Twitter community. When you encourage people to interact with your content, it makes it likely that they will follow.
Responding to mentions and comments on your content is equally important because it helps you build a lasting connection with your network. It encourages trust and loyalty and eventually increases your conversions.
Engagement also helps you analyze whether your content strategy is working. It helps you understand what type of content resonates the most with your target audience.

3 Ways to Engage with Your Twitter Audience

Tweet Hunter’s CRM features provide you with more than one way of interacting with your target audience without having to spend all day scrolling Twitter. Here are three ways to get started.
Before you start your Twitter engagement efforts, creating a contacts list on Tweet Hunter is important. This is where you can create separate lists of people you’d like to network with, for example, your existing network, your target prospects, and thought leaders and influencers in your industry.
  • Click “Contacts” under the CRM section on the menu of the Tweet Hunter dashboard.
  • Click “Create a New List.”
  • Create a name for your list, and then click “Create List.”
You can add a specific Twitter handle to your list, a Twitter List, people who have interacted with your tweets in the past, sent you DMs, or import a list of people from a specific tweet.
Once you have done that, click “Import” and then “Add People.”

Engage with Your Target Audience

Now that you have a contact list ready, you can start interacting with your target audience. This is where you’d be able to engage with the content of people you’d like to connect with and gain more visibility and followers in the process.
  • Click “Engage (people)” under the CRM section of your Tweet Hunter dashboard.
  • Select a contact list from the drop-down menu.
