The only effective reps are the ones where you start to involuntarily slow down. If you end your sets before you get to these reps then your training sessions are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Best alternatives to pullups when you can't do pullups: - Negatives - Assisted pullups (machine) - Assisted pullups (band) - Lat pulldowns Rows of any type will help as well.
