One of my most hated terms is "clean eating". In the right context, anything can be a good or bad choice. In the middle of a marathon? Pure sugar is a healthy choice. In a 1000 kcal surplus every day? An extra wild caught salmon fillet is a bad choice.

I've found between 0.75% and 1% of your weight per week is best to shoot for. You can go slower too, but there's no benefit and most could go more aggressive. 1% per week is probably the max sustainable rate.

The worst possible approach I can imagine to fat loss: Tons of cardio every single day. What a horrible way to spend 10 hours of your week. Waste of time and unpleasant. Just control your diet.

Don't view a calorie deficit as being over a day. View it as being over a week or a month. This bigger picture approach will set you free.
