The best tweet in the world is worthless if no one gets to read it.
A good tweet isn’t just about the content. It’s also about how it is presented.
Paying too much attention to the content and zero to the format is a common rookie mistake on Twitter.
We wrote a while back an article on 10-Fill-In-The-Blank tweet templates to help you with this.
We know it’s not enough, so here are 10 more:
#1 - What people think
What people think copywriting is:
— Chase Dimond | Email Marketing Nerd 📧 (@ecomchasedimond) October 12, 2021
- Writing
What copywriting actually is:
- Researching
- Asking questions
- Understanding
- Checking swipe files
- Coming up with angles
- Structuring the copy
- Writing
Writing is just the tip of the iceberg.
This is the perfect template to address misconceptions about your niche.
Usually, people from the “outside” think that doing determined tasks is easier than it really is. This tweet style will help you prove your audience.
Plus, it also works visually by showing what people think (one word) vs what it really is (a chunk of text).
The template 👇
✍️ What people think ______ is:
✍️ - ________
✍️ What _______ actually is:
✍️ - ________
- ________
- ________
- ________
- ________
✍️ _________ is just the tip of the iceberg.
#2 - The best
The best marketers don’t just study specific channels, tools, or tactics
— Katelyn Bourgoin 🧠 (@KateBour) November 23, 2022
The best marketers study: people
This tweet could simply be the second line, but it wouldn’t have as much punch. By saying in the first line that “the best X don't just do X, Y, Z” it adds context and makes the tweet punchier.
The best part, this template applies to any niche!
The template 👇
✍️ The best ______ don’t just ______
✍️ The best _______ do ________
#3 - Start over
If I had to start my solopreneur journey over, here's what I'd do:
— Justin Welsh (@thejustinwelsh) May 9, 2022
- Pick a skill I know cold
- Talk about it daily online
- Offer to help 3 companies free
- Track meaningful improvements
- Get a few testimonials for my website
- Ask for intros to other companies & charge $$$
Talking about your journey is a sure way to generate more trust among your audience.
An “if I had to start all over again” type of tweet can be great for sharing your experience and learnings. It’s appealing to both newbies and seasoned folks.
The template 👇
✍️ If I had to start my ________ journey over, here's what I'd do:
#4 - Stop wasting hours

#5 - 3-2-1
3-2-1 success:
— Kieran Drew (@ItsKieranDrew) November 28, 2022
3 tweets a day
2 threads a week
1 year of patience
You got this.
Visually appealing tweet templates are the best. This one by Kieran is brilliant, as it plays with the 3-2-1 numbers to share the process he followed for “Twitter success.”
How can you apply it to your niche?
The template 👇
✍️ 3-2-1 ______:
✍️ 3 ______
2 ______
1 ______
✍️ __________
#6 - ❤️ vs 💵
❤️: "Here's a compilation of Twitter's best threads this month."
— JK Molina (@OneJKMolina) December 12, 2022
💵: "Here's a compilation of my best threads this month."
Using emojis (always with balance) can be a great tactic to break through the Twitter feed noise.
The cool thing about an emoji is that it encapsulates a very clear concept in just one character.
In this example, JK uses it to counterpose ❤️ with 💵. It gets attention and it’s colorful.
The template 👇
✍️ ❤️: “________________________”
✍️ 💵: “________________________”
#7 - You are allowed to
You’re allowed to STEAL content online.
— George Ten (@GrammarHippy) October 26, 2022
Here are the 4 sneaky rules to steal and never get caught:
1. Don’t copy word for word
2. Don’t steal from direct competition
3. Steal from 3+ sources and combine
4. Steal the big idea - write in your own words.
I do this all the time.
There are few things as powerful as tearing down myths on Twitter. This is exactly what this tweet format allows you to do.
You start the tweet by saying, “You are allowed to” then introduce one thing that’s usually not allowed in your niche.
Then you list the different rules on how to do that thing you weren’t supposed to do.
The template 👇
✍️ You are allowed to _____________
✍️ Here are the _____ rules to do it:
✍️ 1.___________
2.___________
3.___________
✍️ ____________
#8 - Ways to keep doing it
Ways to keep learning:
— Ian Powell (@ianpowelly) April 15, 2021
📖Read.
📖Take an online class.
📖Surround yourself with learners.
📖Listen to a new podcast each week.
📖Be around people different than you.
Never stop learning.
Lists and emojis are a winning combo.
Use this format to list a bunch of things and try to find an emoji that makes sense in that context.
The template 👇
✍️ Ways to keep________:
✍️ 1.___________
2.___________
3.___________

#9 - You can’t have both
You can have peace of mind or you can be well informed.
— Ed Latimore (@EdLatimore) August 5, 2020
You can't have both.
Use this tweet template to oppose two ideas. Make your audience choose.
This tweet format is guaranteed to spark a conversation.
The template 👇
✍️ You can have ____________ or you can have __________.
✍️ You can’t have both.
#10 - Terrify
terrify a creator in 5 words or less👇
— Brett Dashevsky (@brettdash_) July 17, 2022
These types of “engagement bait” tweets tend to perform super well. It can be a great way to engage with your audience and have some fun.
The template 👇
✍️ terrify a _________ in ___ words or less 👇
The format is as important as the content
How a tweet is presented is fundamental to its success.
People on Twitter skim. The best way to ensure people pay attention to your tweets is to make them easy to read so they stop the scroll.
Then, once they enter your Follower Funnel, if it's set up properly, you'll find it much easier to convert them into followers.
Of course, the content must still be good. Don’t forget!
