Let's dive into why Apple puts out some of the BEST copy of all time, and dissect how they do it, so you can too 🧵🪡

The sauce 🪄

Use simple, contextual, and well-known words & phrases.

Then arrange them in a way that’s pleasing to the consumer's mind.

This is literally what Apple does every time and in the next couple tweets, I'll prove it to you 👇🏼

1️⃣ Macbook Air Copy

This phenomenal copy says so much with just 3 words.

It repurposes the phrase “light years ahead” by showing a Mac called AIR is light, fast, and superior to the competition.

-Repurpose a common phrase: Slippery when wet

-Break it up with clever punctuation: Slippery. When Wet. 

-Add the CTA (Call to action): Slippery. When Wet. Unlock this video to get me soaked.

2️⃣ iPad Air Copy

This headline for iPad plays with adjectives followed by listing the benefit.

Benefit:
iPad can do a lot of stuff.
Word: Capable.

Benefit:
iPad doesn’t cost a lot.
Word: Affordable.

This 'water' phrase is common & it becomes instantly witty because the copy is talking about a waterproofing feature.

📝 Find common phrases related to the point you’re trying to make.

Draw contrast with contextual words because that's where the sauce is.

“Devours” & “Sips" are both food-related words.

Like you devour a meal, but you sip juice.

📝 Use the same sentence structure and repeat one word in at least 2 sentences.

Use rhyming to describe a feature or the benefit of the product.

📝 Figure out the primary benefit of your product then use one word to describe it.

As usual, that’s brought out by a familiar phrase. Practically a double-edged word sword.
