I went back and forth quite a bit on whether to invoke the word “crisis” and am a bit glad to see that the Overton window adjusted to include that having been a real risk on the same day:

Speaking of Overton windows, note the significant and unfortunate point that political decisions about whether to permit banking crises or not hinge on whether it’s the kind of banking crisis that impacts bad people or not.

“Oh we found out that if we let regional banks fail regular people and food pantries will be effected so we decided to maybe not do that.” Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa


I asserted confidently this had happened yesterday and I am glad to see the claim now retroactively citable, I guess.
