"Why is the hiring market so hot for senior and above engineers?" There are several reasons. One of the counter-intuitive one is how there are fewer sr engineers on the market... in part due to people burning out, quitting & taking a break. Here's a person sharing exactly this: t.co/MBdxlcIRtB

In this case, the company would have been smart to catch this problem early, offer a sabbatical, or another form of longer-term break for the employee. Still, even these approaches won't help everyone: some people truly, truly need a break after close to 2 years of crazyness.
