Whenever I was"forced" to work with technology/tools I would have never chosen, I thought I'd be miserable. Instead: - I decided "screw it, might as well get good at it" - Learned new stuff - Started to appreciate how & why they worked different - Came out much more well-rounded

A very memorable example was in 2012, when C# was both my favorite language/tool. At work, we were told to use JavaScript to build Skype for Xbox One. This was pre-ES5, very old school (and limited language). You know what? It turned out okay, and I became an expert of (2012) JS

I even ended up creating one of the very few WinJS in-depth courses that ever existed (WinJS was Microsoft's framework to build JS apps and we used & hacked around on Skype for Xbox One - I have no clue if it's around any more) t.co/E2JqZqtPzl
