I am deliberately not “shouting from the rooftop” for (hiring) managers to adjust compensation ASAP, because those who do: they have a strategic advantage in retaining people. But know this: the market has moved up ~30% (or more), globally, for senior eng roles. From a year ago! t.co/jZMakXfMmY

In private, I *am* “shouting from the rooftop” and advising founders/HMs to do out-of-cycle adjustments ASAP and move with the market. What is happening with tech comp is bonkers, unprecedented and it will get worse the next 6 months. Summary & advice: t.co/4pSmBEoQmE

And yes, as a hiring manager, you should start to hire ahead of some of your (best) people leaving. It will happen, and you can’t do much about it. When it happens, I be supportive and happy for them. My managers who did this? We still talk! Those who didn’t? Sorry, but no.
