Every time I post a diagram about how big tech works - with a PRD/ERD process -, someone outside big tech shows up and assumes This Looks Like Waterfall Thus This Is Bad. Buddy. These places ship multiple times per day, and are more nimble than their competition using Scrum. t.co/ozmJMSjlCa

I wrote in a lot more detail how big tech works vs more traditional companies. Yes, these places read the Agile Manifesto, written by ppl overwhelmingly working in consulting… but the real world is different to just four sentences written 20 years ago. t.co/W0UcBsv9O5

One thing that the Agile Manifesto misses - as no one from a big tech-like company was there - is how important it’s to align *internal* people in the company early on in larger orgs. Without a PRD/ERD “upfront planning” often months’ worth of work is thrown out the trash.
