It is being reported that OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been blocked in Italy.

Twitter users from Italy can confirm whether this is true or not, but the idea of countries banning technology out of fear is a slippery slope. Very few people understand what is possible here, and what the risks are, but uncertainty does not always equate to bad outcomes.

Multiple people claiming to be in Italy say ChatGPT is still working. Everyone from TechCrunch to Barrons to The Independent is reporting it is blocked. In a world of instant information, truth becomes harder to identify. The machines will just put this struggle on steroids.
