some people would probably be surprised to hear that a lot of my last 2 years have been like this not precisely “nothing figured out”, but I’ve been in the sticky ugly gross place trying to figure out things outside my known zone

the easy elegant move would’ve been to just go harder on promoting my two books (I have a marketing background! I know how to do it!) but I don’t want to do that. I want to do other things. what things? I’m still figuring it out

which isn’t to say that I’m done with FAN or INT. They are lifelong works for me. I intend to return to them repeatedly. But a theme in both of those works is that you don’t know a thing entirely from inside it– so to honor those works I have to journey elsewhere!
