I have never yet encountered a headmaster who could say in talk just "We stand for x, y, and z" instead of "We stand for x. We stand for y. We stand for z."

It's a bad sign when you can predict the next sentence in a talk. As Claude Shannon implicitly pointed out. Exception: Comedy. There are times when it's very funny for the audience to be able to predict the next sentence.
