This more broadly may be the future of the US. AI substitutes for minds ruined by fentanyl. Robotics for hands that no longer want to work tough shifts. Drones for soldiers that don’t want to fight. Digital capital substituted for human capital. Grim, but better than collapse. t.co/hi2k6L14qA

This scenario is the AI bailout of America. Social and human capital is on the decline in many ways, from political polarization to skilled immigrants that don’t want to come. But software can scale up even faster than that. Robots could do the jobs that humans won’t. t.co/XHAbD0GSqt

I think there absolutely is a positive robot future, one that is compatible with human flourishing. But I’m not sure we are on track for that in America, at least Blue America — if SF, Seattle, and LA are any guide. t.co/O58Bt8Wntb
