By using $/N as a metric, suddenly increasing N doesn’t increase the perceived importance of an organization but decreases it. This disincentivizes hiring unless absolutely necessary.
The legibility of headcount is part of the issue. More people seems more important, even if it’s actually just more expensive. The alternative may be public dashboards like Coinmarketcap — *but* for healthier metrics than sheer market cap. t.co/1xO8d5VbXV
