Two faces of the Indian Income Tax Department. Just read the full story with an open mind. Aug'23: Vedanta approached the Delhi High Court alleging that the department had not remitted its determined refund of over Rs 190.23 crore for AY 2021-22.

The department raised the issue of pending demand for AY: 2009-10 which was pending at Bombay High Court. As it was pending amount could not be adjusted. Vedanta offered the Department to adjust this refund against an outstanding demand of AY 2011-12. But Dept. refunded 190 Cr

The point here is, even when the company offered to adjust the Refund against outstanding demand of AY 2011-12, Deptt. gave them full refund whereas in case of Individual Taxpayer, Income Tax Department has uploaded old demands in the portal and adjusted current refund against.

Isn't this two yardsticks, for corporate when they say adjust Department allows full Refund but with small assessess's they adjust even after raising griveance. You are free to troll me but let's see who else is there to speak in favor of small individual assesses.
