The Ludhiana police claimed to have busted a gang that had obtained GST refunds by creating a fake firm in the name of a city resident.

The fraud came to light when the GST Department issued a notice to a resident regarding fake GST returns obtained by his company. Later, the victim lodged a police complaint and the investigation led to the busting of the racket.
