Star Health get ₹170-crore GST demand notice, faces nearly ₹9 crore penalty. The demand order was issued under Section 73, on February 14, 2024, alleging a total GST of ₹170.67 crore. The GST authorities also imposed a penalty of ₹8,67,25,664 on the company.

As per the details of the stock exchange filing, the demand order pertains to non-payment of GST liability on the re-insurance commission received by Star Health and Allied Insurance Company from April 2018 to March 2019.
