Record GST figure reflects growth in business and employment: Chief Minister Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday cited the record GST figures in April – Rs 1.87 lakh crore – as he suggest the tax payment reflects income surge and employment levels across the country.

The Chief Minister was addressing a public gathering at Bodeli in the Chhota Udepur district, which was held to mark the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

“In the month of April, the income of GST is Rs 1.87 lakh crore (which is a record) was historic. When do people pay the tax? When there is business and employment.”

Among others present on the occasion were Devusinh Chauhan, Union minister of state for communications and Lok Sabha MP from Kheda constituency, along with local BJP MPs, MLAs, and party office bearers.

During his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the developmental work and policies of PM Modi in the last nine years. Modi started science schools in tribal areas of Gujarat, enabling tribals to be doctors and engineers, Patel stressed.
