𝗢𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗚𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗕𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘆 The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the Superintendent of Central GST and Central Excise in Berhampur, Odisha, for accepting bribes.

The Superintendent was apprehended while accepting ₹15,000, the first instalment of a total bribe demand of ₹20,000 from a complainant. The bribe was reportedly demanded to process the complainant's GST refund.

It is alleged that the Superintendent had previously processed a GST refund of ₹1.77 lakh and was demanding a bribe to facilitate the processing of an additional GST refund of nearly ₹3 lakh.

The CBI registered the case on July 9, and based on the complaint, a trap was laid. The superintendent was caught red-handed in Berhampur.
