No plans to eliminate milk and milk products from GST net, says Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary The GST rates on milk and milk products are as follows: ✅Fresh milk and pasteurized milk are exempt from GST.
✅Pre-packaged and labeled milk products, including curd, lassi, buttermilk and paneer, are taxed at 5% GST. ✅Ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk is also taxed at 5% GST. ✅Condensed milk, butter, ghee and cheese are taxed at 12% GST.
The GST rates on dairy products including curd, lassi, condensed milk butter, ghee and cheese are uniformly levied across States, and are based on the recommendations of the GST Council, the Union Minister of State for Finance said in Parliament recently.
Minister Pankaj Chaudhary also said that the rates are prescribed based on the recommendations of the GST Council, which comprises representatives from both the Centre and States.
