The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in India has issued guidelines for a special all India drive against fake GST registrations. The drive will run from 16 May to 15 July 2023. The aim is to detect and weed out fake billers from the GST eco-system.

The guidelines include identifying fraudulent GSTINs, appointing nodal officers for information sharing, taking action against non-existent and fictitious taxpayers, and providing weekly reports on action taken.

The National Coordination Committee will monitor the progress of the special drive. Vide Instruction no. 01/2023-GST
