GST fraudsters, watch out! The Finance Ministry is coming for you 👀🚨 The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, recently chaired an important meeting with key officials like Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra and CBIC Chairman Vivek Johri.

They discussed the growing problem of fake GST entities and how to strengthen the registration process to curb these fraudsters in the ecosystem. Did you know? Already 11,140 fake registrations have been detected and the authorities have taken action against them.

During the meeting, Sitharaman was informed about the methods fraudsters use to create these fake entities, such as identity theft!

Don't worry, though – the Ministry hasn't been sitting idle. A nationwide campaign is being launched to increase awareness and take decisive action. Some measures already in place include OTP-based Aadhaar verification and biometric-based Aadhaar authentication in high-risk cases

That's not all – advanced tools like artificial intelligence and machine learning are also being utilized to uncover and dismantle these fake organizations.

The Finance Ministry is working tirelessly to secure the GST ecosystem and protect taxpayers from fraud. But, always stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities!
