Chandigarh likely to surpass fresh target of Rs 2,300 cr Going by the current GST collection figures, the UT Administration is likely to surpass the revised target for the current financial year.

According to the data shared by Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary during the ongoing Budget session of Parliament, the total GST collection till December last year was Rs 2,071 crore (on an average, Rs 230 crore per month).

The revised estimate target for the current fiscal was Rs 2,300 crore. Earlier, anticipating that it would not be able to achieve the Budget estimates target, the UT Administration had lowered the target by Rs 100 crore in the revised estimates.

Experts believe that in the fiscal 2023-24, the GST collection would surpass even the last financial year’s collection, which was Rs 2,365 crore. It was Rs 1,979 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 1,651 crore in 2020-21, according the data shared by the Minister.

The total GST collection in the city stood at Rs 234 crore in January 2023, Rs 188 crore in February, Rs 202 crore in March, Rs 255 crore in April, Rs 259 crore in May, Rs 227 crore in June, Rs 217 crore in July,

Rs 192 crore in August, Rs 219 crore in September, Rs 210 crore in October, Rs 210 crore in November and Rs 281 crore in December last year, according to the data shared in the Minister in Rajya Sabha.
