š· š¦ššÆš·š²š°š: š„š²šš°š¶š»š±š¶š»š“ š¼š³ šš¶šæš°šš¹š®šæ š”š¼. š®šµ/š®š¬š®š¬-Customs dated 29.06.2020 ā concerning transshipment of export cargo from Bangladesh to third countries through Indian Land Customs Stations (LCSs) to Ports/Airports, in containers or closed-bodied trucks.
š· Background of the Original Circular (No. 29/2020): Issued by CBIC on 29th June 2020, the circular laid down a framework for facilitating the movement of export cargo originating from Bangladesh, intended for third country destinations, via Indian territory.
It permitted such transshipment through specified Land Customs Stations (LCSs) and onward transportation to designated ports or airports in India. The arrangement supported trade facilitation and regional connectivity between Bangladesh and other countries, using India as a transit corridor.
š· š”š²š šš²šš²š¹š¼š½šŗš²š»š ā šš¶šæš°šš¹š®šæ š”š¼. ššÆ/š®š¬š®š±-ššššš¼šŗš: CBIC has now rescinded the Circular No. 29/2020-Customs with immediate effect. This means that the facility of transshipment under the old circular will no longer be available for fresh cargo entering India.
š· š§šæš®š»šš¶šš¶š¼š»š®š¹ š£šæš¼šš¶šš¶š¼š»š: Export cargo that has already entered India under the framework of Circular No. 29/2020 prior to this rescission will be allowed to exit Indian territory. The existing procedure mentioned in the rescinded circular will continue to apply only for such ongoing consignments.
š· šš»šššæšš°šš¶š¼š»š š³š¼šæ šš¶š²š¹š± šš¼šæšŗš®šš¶š¼š»š: Field officers are directed to ensure compliance with this updated instruction.
