Banks receive GST notices for use of brand name by branches, subsidiaries Several banks have started receiving goods and services tax (GST) notices for using their brand name by their branches and subsidiaries.

This comes after a recent ruling by the Authority for Advanced Rulings (AAR) of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, saying that each entity in a bank with a different GST number will be considered a distinct entity for tax purposes. Remember GST is Good and Simple Tax
