Eggs are an OK protein source. Only about 37% of the calories come from protein. The rest is from fat. Eat eggs - but if you're trying to maximise protein per calorie, eat mostly liquid egg whites. Mix in 1-2 whole eggs for taste.

When I was a gym newbie I was desperate to putup lots of weight. I sacrificed form for bigger numbers & lifting low reps all the time. My numbers went up but my half reps got worse. Eventually I had to take a blow to my ego and lower the weights...
