TIL that Jeff Bezos and his friend are building a clock inside a random mountain that will keep time for the next 10,000 years. This is wild 👇🏼 t.co/KEFBiOEIVe

The clock is called the "10,000 Year Clock" It is a symbol for long-term thinking. The long hand will move once per year, while the short hand moves once every century. t.co/ee4pzVYZ70

In order to physically get to the clock, you have to climb nearly 2,000 feet above the valley floor. Not exactly easy to get there. t.co/HroKSwWeM7

Building the 10,000 Year Clock is an engineering challenge. The team has to get machinery on-site, build out chambers inside the mountain, and then construct a massive clock that keeps perfect time for centuries. t.co/huLFHkadzi

The clock has already been prototyped and now the team is working on the full-scale version. It requires collaboration between a bunch of different organizations. You will also eventually be able to go visit the 10,000 Year Clock if you want. t.co/GbCdb9ixDb

The 10,000 Year Clock may be one of the coolest projects I've seen in a long time. It requires long-term thinking, immense amounts of capital, and substantial engineering breakthroughs. Humans can create anything they dare to dream of. Jeff Bezos is proving it here.

You can read more about the 10,000 Year Clock on the dedicated website. Enjoy :) t.co/vjGY6gM2jv
